Announcing Our Spring Share Your Shutters Winner05/08/2017Blake Jarman Spring is blowing by here in Raleigh, but don’t think we forgot about our quarterly Share Your Shutters contest. Our latest winner is Tonya S., who shared a few photos of her new shutters that feature a lot of great design choices. Tonya’s house features some beautiful new Polywood® plantation shutters in the dining room. Because the shutters are closed, you can really get a look at how well plantation shutters can really help you control light. Envision that dining room with some softer lighting; it would be the perfect setting for a personal candlelit dinner, right? With the right shutters in your space like Tonya has, you can express that exact mood at any time of day. Also worth mentioning is how the white shutters complement the white trim near the floors and the white ceiling. Those neutral accents make the black table and the wood floor’s natural color shine even more. That wasn’t Tonya’s only photo submission, however. Below is another photo she submitted of her new sliding barn door shutter! We love this barn door shutter for a lot of reasons. First off, it looks fantastic. The homespun aesthetic of the wood with that smooth jet black hardware up top give a timeless yet relaxed look. What we love even more than the looks is the practicality of the shutter. Her barn door shutter sits off the window frame, so it can effectively block light while still letting the window easily open and shut.Since her shutter sits on the front the frame, Tonya can still make use of that deep window jamb, too. For example, if she wanted to set a plant on the sill to get sunlight, she’s even able to close the shutter so it can catch some rays while keeping her home as dim or bright as she wants.According to Tonya this is the third time they’ve chosen window treatments from Sunburst Shutters, and we want to thank her for repeatedly choosing us for all her window design needs. For winning our quarterly Share Your Shutters contest, Tonya will get a $100 gift card to a local restaurant. Are your new shutters beautiful enough to be featured here? Show them off! Share a photo of your shutters using the hashtag #ShareYourShutters, or post a photo on our Facebook page. We’d love to feature some shutters from a North Carolinian in our next update!Or if Tonya’s photos make you feel like your space is missing a little something, we’d love to help.
