A new year means a new chance to revamp your interior design, and stunning new examples of shutters in houses in Raleigh and across the country. Elk Grove is located in Northern California and is just one of several places around the U.S. in which homes can benefit from Polywood shutters all throughout the year. Even when not closed tightly like in Katie’s photo submission, plantation shutters block a huge amount of outside light from coming into the home. In Elk Grove or in Raleigh, that’s a boon to any savvy homeowner who wants a lot of customizability in their space.

Plantation shutters also block energy transfer through the windows, which makes them perfect for homeowners who experience sweltering summers or frigid winters, or who just want to up their home’s energy efficiency. That adds up to a cozier home and cash back in your pocket each month with reduced utility bills.

Katie’s new shutters also take advantage of some newer home design trends. Neutral-colored settings such as her beige wall are becoming very stylish, with contrasting splashes of colors–in Katie’s example the white of the Polywood shutters–serving as points of interest throughout the space. Available in various white and off-white hues, plantation shutters can fill a nice niche in modern home design.

As our latest Share Your Shutters winner, Katie will receive a $100 gift card to a local restaurant, and will have her wonderful shutters featured with our previous winners.
